Description
A refreshing, thick, and icy frozen strawberry lemonade made with real fruit, fresh lemon juice, and simple ingredients. This quick summer drink is perfect for parties, cooling down on hot days, or as a guilt-free indulgence.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (300g) frozen strawberries
- 3 medium fresh lemons (approx. 1/2 cup juice)
- 1/3 cup (80ml) simple syrup or honey
- 1.5 cups (350ml) cold water
- Lemon wheels and mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- If using fresh strawberries, wash, hull, and freeze them on a baking sheet for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Roll lemons on the counter to soften, cut in half, and juice them. Strain out seeds to get approx. 1/2 cup of fresh juice.
- Add frozen strawberries, fresh lemon juice, and half of the water to a blender. Blend on low to break up fruit, then increase to high until mostly smooth.
- With the blender running on low, slowly pour in the simple syrup or honey and add the remaining water. Blend until incorporated and thick.
- Taste and adjust: add more sweetener if too tart, more lemon if too sweet, or more water/ice if too thick/thin.
- Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with lemon wheels and mint. Serve immediately.
Notes
For best texture, use frozen strawberries to avoid watering down the drink with ice. If using a standard blender, stop and scrape down sides as needed. Do not force the blender with frozen fruit. For a large batch, blend in two batches to ensure smoothness. Chilling glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes before serving helps keep the drink cold longer.
