Description
A simple, flaky, and buttery breakfast pastry made with just three ingredients: crescent roll dough, fresh apples, and melted butter. Ready in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tube (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 to 1.5 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples into uniform pieces (approx. 1/8-inch thick). Pat dry if juicy.
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until liquid. Let cool slightly.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles.
- Place a few apple slices near the wide base of each triangle. Roll tightly from the wide end to the point.
- Place rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the rolls generously with the melted butter.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Cool for 5 minutes before serving warm.
Notes
Ensure apples are sliced uniformly for even cooking. Pat dry juicy apples to prevent soggy bottoms. Do not overload rolls with apples to prevent bursting. Chill dough if kitchen is warm to help it hold shape. Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and aid cleanup.
